FORGIVENESS AND RELEASE

$500.00

Created in 2024. 24×36” acrylic on canvas

What this piece is about. The flower in the left, an Iris my favorite flower. There is beauty all around us. Flowers always remind me of this. The statue of the face, Marcus Aurelius, a roman stoic philosopher greatly known for his work "the meditations" which was a collection of his thoughts and ideas. My favorite quotes l've come across by him "the soul becomes dyed with the colour of its thoughts" and "dwell on the beauty of life. Watch the stars, and see yourself running with them." The color scheme; colors can represent emotions. Red being more harsh and blues/greens being more forgiving. The line that divides them where they meet shows how opposite they are. The chain symbolizes heaviness and restraint, and breaking out of that chain means freedom. The flower growing out of the broken pillar represents a new beginning. The checkers, well I just like checkers | suppose. They create fluidity in the background as they are kinda distorted.

This collection of artwork are about lessons and life. The previous one was about trusting the process and knowing deep in your heart that your unique path is valid. This one is about being forgiving, trying again, letting people and things be how they are.
