Vulnerability is still a mystery to me. My honest response to this piece was that I created it when my mind was under a lot of transformation and so it took a very long time to complete or feel like it was “finished”. I challenged myself with this and worked outside of my usual color comfort zone of cool tones and blues. I wanted this piece to feel more natural and warm, with Earth tones. The hands in the center are from my own hands which I took videos of moving around one another and then photoshopped it into one cohesive union. The hand placement and the way they interact with one another is where the title ties in. Connection can be a rollercoaster to go on with yourself and another person. So I tried to portray the different stages of that with the way my hands interacted with one another.
